Agency After School Care
Agency After School Care (AAS) is a group service designed to provide social and recreational activities for youth after the school day ends. This program offers a structured environment where children can engage with peers, fostering social skills and enjoying various recreational activities in a safe setting.
By providing caregivers with the chance to take breaks, Elmy’s intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) respite services enable them to rest, enjoy leisure activities, or attend to personal tasks. During these periods, skilled professionals care for the youth either at home or in another safe environment.
Nurturing Growth Beyond the Classroom
Agency After School Care is ideal for preschool-aged children enrolled in public school Pre-K programs and those attending Extended School Year programs, offering a valuable extension to their daily activities with a focus on social and recreational development.
Flexible Usage
Families can utilize up to 240 hours of Agency After School Care services, inclusive of transportation time, within a 90-day period.
This flexibility allows families to use the service as needed, accommodating various schedules and ensuring that the youth have ample opportunities for engagement and growth through the program.
Location
Services are provided exclusively at the agency’s site, ensuring a consistent and structured environment away from home. This setting helps to distinguish the program's recreational focus from the home environment, promoting a sense of independence and social interaction among the youth.
Transportation
The youth's family is responsible for arranging transportation to and from the program site. If the service provider offers transportation, it must be included in the posted rate, with no additional funds provided for this purpose.
