Agency Weekend Recreation
Agency Weekend Recreation (AWR) is ideal for providing youth with enriching experiences over the weekend, fostering social skills, and offering a break from the home environment. It supports the youth's overall development by promoting active participation in group settings and community-based activities.
By providing caregivers with the chance to take breaks, Elmy’s intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) respite services enable them to rest, enjoy leisure activities, or attend to personal tasks. During these periods, skilled professionals care for the youth either at home or in another safe environment.
Fun-Filled Weekends for Loved Ones
The Agency Weekend Recreation service runs on Saturdays and Sundays, providing a range of group activities that can include community outings, enhancing the youth's social experiences and engagement with their surroundings.
Flexible Usage
Families can utilize up to 75 hours of Agency Weekend Recreation services, inclusive of transportation time, within a 90-day period.
This flexibility allows families to tailor the service usage to their needs, ensuring that youth can benefit from regular social and recreational activities without being confined to a rigid schedule.
Transportation
Elmy's provides transportation for the Agency Weekend Recreation Program. The cost is included in the posted rate, with no additional funds provided for this purpose.
This ensures that the program remains accessible and affordable for families while maintaining a structured approach to transportation logistics.
Community Outings
Agency Weekend Recreation sometimes includes outings in the community, allowing youth to explore and interact with various environments and activities outside of the home.
These outings are designed to promote social interaction, learning, and enjoyment in diverse settings, contributing to the overall development and well-being of the participants.
