Including a wide array of services directed at parents, siblings and other relatives, that enhance a family’s capacity to continue caring for a family member with a developmental disability living at home.
Providing assistance to help support families and individuals
Family Reimbursement compensates families to help pay for goods and services related to caring for a person with a disability. These services and goods are not reimbursed or obtained through other sources, but which directly benefits the person with a disability.
The maximum reimbursement allowed per applicant is $500. If you have any questions regarding this service, feel free to contact us.
What items are eligible for reimbursement?
A parent committee will review all applications based on income, the nature of the request, and the applicant’s award history.

Applicants must submit a completed application and a personal letter and should also include the following items.

Non-Medicaid Service Coordination Brooklyn and Queens
Non-Medicaid Service Coordination is a service that allows individuals and their families to receive advocacy despite not having Medicaid benefits. A Non-Medicaid Service Coordinator (NMSC) assists with the entire Medicaid process. The NMSC also helps individuals and their families obtain any services that might be needed, such as respite services, weekend recreation, transportation, crisis intervention, or family reimbursement. Additionally, he or she will assist with Board of Education and medical concerns. This program is available to individuals of all ages who have been diagnosed with a developmental disability, and do not currently receive Medicaid benefits.
